Dear Esteemed Experts, Colleagues and Friends,
Warm greetings to you all!
On behalf of the Organizing Committee and my colleagues, I am delighted to extend our heartfelt gratitude and warmest welcome to the Asian-Australasian Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (AASSFN) 2025, taking place from May 21st to 24th.
With the theme “Innovation, Exploration, Collaboration, and Development,” this conference convenes the world’s foremost experts and scholars in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. It is a remarkable gathering that fosters the exchange of groundbreaking academic ideas, cultivates collaboration, and sets the stage for shaping the future of functional neurosurgery and neuroscience.
Founded on August 23, 1956, Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, is one of China’s largest and most distinguished teaching hospitals, excelling in medical care, education, research, and prevention. Renowned for its neurosurgery department, the hospital performs over 20,000 surgeries annually, supported by more than 200 neurosurgeons, 19 specialized wards, and 600 neurosurgical beds, earning recognition as a leading neuroscience hub. The Department of Functional Neurosurgery specializes in diagnosing, treating, and innovating functional brain disorders, operating two wards with 80 beds, including 62 for neurosurgery and 20 for EEG monitoring. Equipped with advanced technologies such as stereotactic surgical robots, an intraoperative MRI navigation system, and an LITT system, the department excels in procedures like deep brain stimulation, microvascular decompression, stereotactic biopsies, and epilepsy surgery, performing 1,451 surgeries and handling 7,174 outpatient visits in 2024 alone.
AASSFN 2025 offers a unique platform to explore innovations in treating movement disorders, psychiatric diseases, epilepsy, chronic pain, and more. We hope participants find inspiration, share insights, and foster collaborations, forging lasting connections to advance our field together.
Together, let us advance neuroscience and functional neurosurgery to improve lives worldwide. Thank you for joining us, and we wish you a successful and inspiring conference!
